Concerns on 8th Grade Home School

Here’s the story: I don’t want to go to prom. First of all – I think it is unnecessary because we are only in 8th grade. We are a wealthy family, but this is a stupid way to spend money. I would wait for high school prom. Second – I don’t have a date. I am a bit chubby, but I am tall and beautiful in the face. I wanted to ask this one girl to prom, but one of my (stupid) friends asked her first, even though he has a broken leg and most probably won’t be able to come to the prom (or if he does he won’t be able to even stand up). Third – There is a second girl that I might ask. She is pretty social and fun, but has scumbag friends and I am afraid of their comments if she says no. Forth – I can’t tell mom and dad that I don’t want to go. They will not understand and are gonna make me go :( … The other day, one of my scumbag friends said to me: “It will be so much laughing if you don’t get a date and come alone to prom!” I wanted to punch him in the face… There are many other guys and girls without dates, but I hate the fact that almost all of the uglier guys have dates and I don’t. This is killing me!

Should I go to prom even though I don’t have a date’ How to make my parents understand and let me stay home’ Please, HELP!!!

P.S. We are doing a kind of celebration the last day of school, and the prom is 10 days later. Isn’t that enough for our age’
